Resources on Guns and Violence

As an association dedicated to helping children and families around the globe, our thoughts are with those impacted by senseless acts of violence.

AACAP has compiled resources to help children and families cope with gun violence. Check out AACAP's resources on Talking to Children About Violence, AACAP's Policy Statement on Children and Guns, as well as AACAP's Facts for Families: Firearms and Children, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Anxiety and Children.

Check out AACAP's Telepsychiatry Toolkit which provides aspiring and established telepsychiatrists resources for their practices.
Resources on Depression for Parents, Youth, and Clinicians

Check out AACAP’s expanded Depression Resource Center, that includes the newly revised Depression: Parents’ Medication Guide

Plus, with your member access to Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America, you can read the issue on Depression in Special Populations.  Please Sign In above for member access and read the articles here.

The release of these important resources coincides with the current Presidential Initiative on Depression Awareness and Screening in Children and Adolescents of Karen Dineen Wagner, MD, PhD.

The Resource Group on Youth at the Border continues their efforts in collecting and compiling resources from AACAP, and other allied groups, aimed at helping the membership care for this vulnerable population.
