Aysen Coskun, MD, Receives 2018 AACAP Ülkü Ülgür, MD, International Scholar Award
Washington, DC, October 4, 2018 -The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is proud to announce the winner of AACAP’s Ülkü Ülgür, MD, International Scholar Award, Aysen Coskun, MD.
AACAP’s Ülkü Ülgür, MD, International Scholar Award, made possible by a generous gift from Dr. Ülgür, recognizes a child psychiatrist or physician in the international community who has made significant contributions to the enhancement of mental health services for children and adolescents. Throughout his career, Dr. Ülgür has shown outstanding leadership in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. He is well known in the United States and internationally for his lifetime work advancing school-based mental health services.
Dr. Coskun was the founder of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at Kocaeli University, where she is still working as the chair. It is a leading Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department in Turkey. Dr. Coskun focused on child protection, forensic psychiatry, and various kinds of traumatic events for children during her studies.
She will be honored at AACAP’s Annual Meeting, October 22-27, 2018, Seattle, WA.
