About the Nebraska Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Nebraska Regional Council of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry was established in 1980 by Dr. Paul Fine.  In the early 1980's, however, meetings were not well-attended and it was difficult to elicit interest. In 1988, an organizational meeting was called and the Council began to hold meetings which coincided with the Nebraska Psychiatric Society quarterly meetings. With this change, both attendance and interest improved. The Council has been meeting ever since and has had continued involvement within the Nebraska Psychiatric Society as well as in community projects, legislation, and academic psychiatry.
