AACAP Endowment Fund

An endowment is an investment that provides permanent support to the charitable cause. Support of the AACAP Endowment is an investment in the future of AACAP. The Endowment benefits AACAP in perpetuity as the assets generated by these permanent gifts continue to grow and yield grant funding for the needs of both current and future generations.

Many of the fantastic programs that AACAP develops and implements are outside our operating budget. Fortunately, the AACAP Endowment exists to fund important programs that support AACAP's mission. These programs expand the professional resources that help our membership and promote the healthy development of children, adolescents, and families:

Educational Outreach Program
The Educational Outreach Program funds travel grants for general psychiatry residents, and child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) residents to attend the AACAP Annual Meeting. This program began over ten years ago and awards residents with post meeting reimbursable expense support of up to $1000. Residents are required to complete required programming which includes participating in a Life Members program, the mentorship program and attend special events such as the Young Leaders Award Breakfast. Administered by the Committee on Medical Student and Residents, the program funds attendance at our Annual Meetings thereby providing those individuals with the opportunity to experience the cutting edge science and network with members and other residents that could eventually become valuable professional contacts.
