Current AACAP Opportunities
AACAP's Executive Office is pleased to offer the following opportunities:
AACAP's John E. Schowalter, MD, Resident Member of Council
Available to first year child and adolescent psychiatry residents
Responsibilities include:
- Attending the two-day June Council Retreat and two to three October Council meetings during AACAP's Annual Meeting
- Representing the concerns of residents during his/her two-year term on Council (October 2016-October 2018)
- Serving as a member during the first year and co-chair during the second year of the Committee on Medical Students and Residents
- Writing four brief articles and soliciting two articles for AACAP News
AACAP's Assembly Executive Committee Resident Representative
Available to AACAP members who are first year child and adolescent psychiatry trainees (or third or fourth year trainees in a combined training program) as of July of the application year
Great opportunity to gain leadership experience and advocate for residents within the Assembly
AACAP's Assembly Executive Committee Representatives to Council
Available to current Delegates to the Assembly who are also AACAP General Members or Distinguished Fellows
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as members of the Assembly Executive Committee and serving on Council as Representatives of the Assembly for two-year terms
- Retaining positions as Delegates during the term of office
