New AACAP Virtual Series: How Collaborative Care Enhances Your Practice and Increases Child Mental Health Access

In order to meet the significant need for pediatric mental health services, many child and adolescent psychiatrists are trying to evolve their practices to work more collaboratively within our systems of care. By working more collaboratively with primary care practices and others, our limited workforce can address the mental health needs of more children and adolescents. This six-part series teaches the essentials that all child and adolescent psychiatrists need to know to enhance their practices by adopting collaborative models. This free virtual series includes 6 videos by experts in the field and up to 3 opportunities to interact with those experts over the next year.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss collaborative care models and how enhancing practice by incorporating collaborative care improves access to critical mental health treatment for children and adolescents.
  2. Implement one or more collaborative care models using transformative best practices by enhancing partnership with primary care clinicians.
  3. Develop sustainable funding for collaborative care.
  4. Demonstrate how collaborative care can propel leadership and advocacy efforts by child and adolescent psychiatrists.

How to Participate

To fully participate in this series, we suggest:

  • Watching the six videos (each approximately 45 minutes) on your own time.
  • Signing up for two live virtual Zoom meetings with a chance to ask questions and hear directly from the experts.
