Catchers in the Rye

"I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around – nobody big, I mean – except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff."

J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

2021 Catchers in the Rye Humanitarian Award Recipient:  Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton

Mrs. Clinton. co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, one of the state’s first child advocacy groups. As first lady of the United States, she worked with Republicans and Democrats to help create the successful Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provides health coverage to more than 8 million children and has helped cut the uninsured rate for children in half.
