Childhood Trauma: Outcomes, Assessment, and Treatment

Location: Allegheny General Hospital
(on the second floor of the Magovern Conference area, in the Burkholder/Fraser conference rooms. AGH is at 320 E. North Avenue. Parking is in the James Street garage - there is a parking fee)

Judith Cohen, MD, is the Medical Director at the Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents at Allegheny General Hospital, as well as a Professor of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine

Learning objectives for the evening include:
Describe three negative outcomes associated with children's exposure to violence
Describe a free screening tool for assessing children's trauma symptoms
Describe core components of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
