An Update in Psychopharmacology Relevant to Clinical Practice

Participants receive a review of the basic pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of psychotropics currently being used in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in the pediatric population. Presenters provide empirical data (both negative and positive) and/or systematic clinical observations of treatment of various psychiatric disorders including catatonia, sleep disorders, vaping of nicotine and cannabis, resistant adolescent depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Basic concepts in pharmacokinetics relevant to clinical practice are examined. When applicable, adjunct psychotherapies and neurotherapeutics are introduced. Presenter use case examples to teach and reinforce the concepts presented.
