Research Institute: Vistas of Neurotherapeutics in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The Research Institute reviews current research related to rapidly evolving neurotherapeutics and brain stimulation modalities that hold the promise of augmenting or providing alternatives to current treatment approaches for neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents. The data-driven presentations also look at the clinical practice implications of the research. Participants gain a working knowledge of brain stimulation modalities, neurofeedback, and related research; look at recent clinical trials of trigeminal nerve stimulation and transcranial magnetic stimulation; review recent research studies focused on cognitive remediation in early-onset psychosis and cognitive training in pediatric anxiety; and examine relevant ethical issues related to brain stimulation and neurofeedback research in children and adolescents. Directions of future research are explored.
