Washington, D.C., September 19, 2012 - The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is proud to announce Peter Buckley, M.D., Dean of the Medical College of Georgia, Georgia Health Sciences University, as the recipient of AACAP's 2012 Cancro Academic Leadership Award.

The Cancro Academic Leadership Award recognizes a currently serving General Psychiatry Training Director, Medical School Dean, CEO of a Training Institution, Chair of a Department of Pediatrics, or Chair of a Department of Psychiatry for his or her contributions to the promotion of child and adolescent psychiatry. The award recipient receives a $2,000 honorarium.

Dr. Buckley will present an Honors Presentation titled, "Advancing Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Training Experiences Through A Recovery-Oriented Model of Care," during the Training Luncheon at AACAP's 59th Annual Meeting on October 26, 2012, in San Francisco.
