Course Overview

AACAP’s Douglas B. Hansen, MD, 46th Annual Review Course emphasizes the most recent material relevant to the general practice of child and adolescent psychiatry and serves as an up-to-date review of child and adolescent psychiatry as well as addresses important clinical research. The course is designed to update practitioners on state-of-the-art standards of diagnosis and treatment.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Apply awareness of racism and social injustice to clinical care, institutions, medical organizations, and advocacy efforts.
  2. Translate epidemiological data and uses of telepsychiatry to the clinical care of patients in the COVID era.
  3. Improve the outcomes for pediatric patients presenting with acute inflammatory conditions and catatonia.
  4. Translate pharmacogenomics and epigenetics for youth presenting with mental health conditions.
  5. Increase the effectiveness of medication management and psychotherapy for youth with anxiety disorders. 
  6. Integrate evidence-based approaches to early childhood intervention into the clinical care of young children and their families.
  7. Engage in primary prevention by identifying and supporting pregnant mothers who are at elevated risk for mental health conditions.

  • Complete a weekly post-test

Learners are expected to:

  • Tune in Thursday evenings for the weekly presenters’ 45-minute live question and answer webinar via Zoom
  • Attendees are able to ask questions during the webinar
  • Webinars are recorded and posted the next day
