How do you earn CME credits?
The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AACAP designates its educational activities for a maximum amount of hours of credit that can be claimed towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
How are CME credits calculated?
CME credit is designed on an hour-for-hours basis, so for every hour one spends in an educational activity, one would receive 1 CME credit. Many activities include breaks or other activities that do not qualify for CME credit. These hours are not included when determining the total hours of credit for the activity. In addition, each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
