The Simon Wile Symposium honors Dr. Simon Wile, a pioneer in the area of Pediatric Consultation- Liaison, by presenting an update on current methods of psychiatric assessment and treatment in a pediatric environment. Drs. Waxmonsky, Wood, and Miller present Childhood Depression and Asthma: Psychobiologic Effects of Family Relations, Dr. Lester presents Family-Based Prevention for Physically-Injured Children and Parents At-Risk for PTSD, and Dr. Pomeroy presents Neurobiology of Migraine.
In addition, the final presentation is reserved for the annual winner of the Simon Wile Leadership in Consultation Award, an individual whose career has made significant contributions to the psychiatric care of physically ill children. This year’s winner is Thomas F. Anders, M.D., AACAP President.
