Virginia Anthony, AACAP Executive Director, announced her selection of Kristin Kroeger Ptakowski to serve as AACAP Deputy Executive Director. Last December, she was named Director of Government Affairs and Clinical Practice. Kristin will continue these responsibilities and take on the additional responsibilities of Deputy Executive Director beginning May 1, 2005.

WASHINGTON, DC—Virginia Anthony, AACAP Executive Director, announced her selection of Kristin Kroeger Ptakowski to serve as AACAP Deputy Executive Director. Last December, she was named Director of Government Affairs and Clinical Practice. Kristin will continue these responsibilities and take on the additional responsibilities of Deputy Executive Director beginning May 1, 2005.
Kristin has worked in the mental health field for 14 years. She first joined the AACAP staff in 1996 as Assistant Director of Government Affairs. In 2000, she was appointed Director of Clinical Affairs gaining accolades from AACAP members for her work with many of our components. She was responsible for the development of policy issues such as access to care, reimbursement, and systems-based care as well as the development of our practice parameters and educational programs on children’s systems-based care. Before coming to the AACAP, she worked in the Department of Government Relations at the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
