Beyond Private Practice: The Education System

This webinar is the first of a series of webinars organized by AACAP's committee on Community-Based Systems of Care and sponsored by the Center for Mental Health (CMHS). The series was created with the intention of educating child and adolescent psychiatrists (primarily residents and ECP) about potential roles and job opportunities within the systems of care, these include:

Webinar Presenters:
Jeff Bostic, M.D., Ed. D.
Dr. Bostic started his career as a junior high and high school English teacher. He is now a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist who also has a doctorate in education. He currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is also an active consulting psychiatrist to 23 different school districts. His expertise in this field has allowed him to play a large role in the creation of AACAP's Practice Parameters for School Consultation as well as provide chapters on school consultations in numerous text books. Dr. Bostic also has a love and passion for teaching as is demonstrated by his many awards and his enthusiastic approach.
Eric Arzubi, M.D.
Dr. Arzubi is currently a 3rd year Psychiatry Resident at Yale. Prior to pursuing a medical career, Dr. Arzubi obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service which he used in his career as a Foreign Correspondent and a Vice President at Morgan Stanley. He was the founder and president of Raging Knowledge Educational Services which was a learning center designed to provide educational support for struggling students. He is the co-founder of Educational Care at Clifford Beers, which is an after-school program designed to help those struggling with mental health and behavioral problems. Most recently, he spearheaded an initiative called the Educational Care Collaborative (ECC) which resulted in $200,000 in grant funds for a school district in Connecticut. The ECC is different from the traditional school consultation model in that the goal is to intervene at a systems level (i.e. School districts, community partnerships). He plans to spend his career involved with the educational system.
