There is a mental health crisis in America that affects 15 million children and adolescents, with one in five having a diagnosable mental or emotional disorder. Unfortunately, only 20% of those who suffer receive treatment.

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is committed to eliminating all barriers to receiving quality mental health treatment. Your contribution will support the AACAP mission  to promote mentally healthy children, adolescents and families through research, training, advocacy, prevention, comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, peer support and collaboration.  Make a difference for children and adolescents. • Ensure that families have the information necessary to make decisions about caring for children and adolescents with mental illnesses.
• Address critical issues such as mental health treatment for children in foster care and the shortage of community services for youth with mental illnesses.

• Promote the field of child and adolescent psychiatry so that families will receive the quality care they deserve now and in the future.
