Over the past two decades, considerable evidence has accumulated for the value of psychoeducational approaches for families facing serious psychiatric illness in either parents or adolescents. It has also become clear that the psychoeducational approaches have considerable value for families as part of the treatment program for adolescents with depression. The Workshop focuses on enabling participants both to understand recent developments in several evidence-based psychoeducational and cognitive strategies for the prevention of depression in families and to learn how to actually apply these to their own practices.
