This Workshop focuses on the child and adolescent psychiatrist’s role and how it can be adapted and defined in order to effectively provide education, guidance, mentorship, and collaboration with pediatric primary care physicians, while preserving the integrity of clinical standards. The second focus is to review the clinical challenges and skills needed in consultation and collaboration with primary care. The third focus is on the systemic and administrative issues surrounding the collaborative process which have served as barriers to scalability and generalization of collaborative systems of care. A few of the issues that are discussed are policy and procedure development, HIPAA issues, and medico-legal issues.
