Saturday, October 27
8:00 – 11:00 a.m. (ticket)
Albert A. Zachik, M.D., Jane Walker, L.C.S.W., Rosemary King Johnston

This Workshop provides an opportunity to learn about the national efforts of the Annapolis Coalition. Specific programs in the State of Maryland are reviewed followed by a discussion to help participants learn practical ways to promote and expand the child and adolescent mental health workforce in their state and locality. Issues discussed are the recruitment and retention of the workforce, improving the quality of the workforce, engaging higher education to incorporate these competencies in pre-service training, and a description of a special scholars program for minority workforce development at a historically black university in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sponsored by the AACAP Work Group on Community-Based Systems of Care for Children with Serious Emotional Disorders
