The parenting of autistic spectrum and mentally retarded children requires special skills and attributes. When the parent is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, these tasks take on even more complexities. This long-standing SIG provides member-parents an opportunity to share ideas, resources, knowledge, and support with the complex tasks that they face raising their special needs children.
