This repeat program was the best attended Special Interest Study Group at the 2006 Annual Meeting. Speakers provide updates on efficacy and tolerability data with pharmacologic treatments for pediatric bipolar disorder, and share practical, evidence-based management strategies for treating the varied presentations of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents. Options for maintenance treatment and prevention of recurrent affective episodes, along with strategies for treating comorbid conditions associated with pediatric bipolar disorder are discussed.
