SIG #2: College and Student Mental Health

The objective of this SIG is to encourage AACAP members in the investigation of college and student mental health care and related issues, review the current status of available mental health services for college students, and formulate ideas to improve access to and utilization of such care. An initial presentation of factors concerning student mental health will be followed by discussion of the following topics: the role/value of the child and adolescent psychiatrist, autonomy versus in loco parentis, accommodations for learning disabilities, administrative organization of service provision, rural settings and service provisions, and stigma.
