54th Annual Meeting Program
CCB #8: Effective Strategies for Psychiatrists in Community Systems of Care

Thursday, October 25
7:00 – 8:30 a.m. (ticket)
Mark S. Chenven, M.D.

This breakfast addresses the role of the child and adolescent psychiatrist (CAP) as the lead in diagnosis, triage activity, treatment planning, psychotherapy supervision and delivery, as well as in providing systems consultation and systems design inputs. Dr. Chenven has extensive career involvement in the design, development, and clinical participation in community systems of care. The role of CAPs in providing effective services and in participating in service delivery systems across the continuum of care is reviewed with specific focus on service delivery models within schools, in coordination with juvenile courts systems and facilities, and in the context of the increasing number of family and community-based models of care. Participants are encouraged to discuss their specific career experiences and challenges in a give and take discussion of strategies that can be applied in their professional and clinical work in community settings.

Sponsored by the AACAP Work Group on Community-Based Systems of Care for Children with Serious Emotional Disorders
