Managed Care, Medicaid, Medicare, and indemnity insurance rely on Current Procedural Terminology-4 (CPT-4) for billing and reimbursement. The complexity of this terminology raises the risk of billing mistakes, the consequences of which may range from inconvenience (nonpayment of services) to the nearly catastrophic (federal charges of fraud and abuse). This breakfast provides a forum for members to ask specific or general coding questions from their practices, learn about the risks of fraud and abuse, and receive practical advice regarding appropriate use of the CPT.
