Institute Goals and Overview
AACAP's 2010 Lifelong Learning Institute reviews Module 6, which focuses on autism, psychotic disorders (non-affective) and other seminal articles on topics such as ethics, ADHD, and psychopharmacology, published in the last year. With the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements in effect, this special Institute is designed for all child and adolescent psychiatrists who are working on the lifelong learning and self-assessment component of Maintenance of Certification. In addition, this Institute is a great review of the current literature, pertinent to anyone who wants to keep up to date with important issues facing practicing child and adolescent psychiatrists.
The Maintenance of Certification requirement involves earning 300 hours of specialty specific Category 1 CME credit over the ten-year MOC cycle. AACAP's Work Group on Lifelong Learning was created to assist members with the lifelong learning and self assessment requirements. Among the Work Group's initiatives is the production of this series of modules containing relevant literature on targeted topics in child and adolescent psychiatry, which also include the most up-to-date literature published for the practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist annually. Plan to attend this Institute, which offers ABPN-approved, specialty-specific CME credit on today's important topics.
