Adam Pertman Receives American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Adoption Award

Washington, D.C., September 24, 2008 – The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), is pleased to announce that Adam Pertman is the recipient of the AACAP Marshall Schecter Lecture on Adoption. The award recognizes an individual’s exemplary work in the field of adoption and adoption advocacy and is administered by AACAP’s Adoption Committee.

Mr. Pertman is a Pulitzer-prize nominated journalist and author of Adoption Nation: How the Adoption Revolution is Transforming America. He founded the Adoption Nation Education Initiative and is the Executive Director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, an adoption policy think tank.

He will present, “Adoption in America: A Revolution in the Family” at Honors Presentation 7 on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 8:30 AM-9:30 AM at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s Annual Meeting in Chicago.
