Benefits

Continuing Medical Education Credit
This course is one in a continuing medical education series under the direction of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). The AACAP is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

The AACAP designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.75 hours of category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The ABPN has reviewed AACAP’s Module 4: Community Systems of Care, Consultative Issues, Culture, Ethics, Forensics, Public Policy/Advocacy, Schools, and Updates on Relevant Topics for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and has approved this product as a part of a comprehensive lifelong learning program, which is mandated by the American Board of Medical Specialties as a necessary component of Maintenance of Certification.

Course Materials
Each participant receives an Institute Notebook (helpful for later review) which organizes materials specially prepared for the course, including Module 4 articles, course slides, and various handout materials. Participants also have the option of ordering the take home post-test for Module 4 for an extra $80. Registrants may earn an additional 30 category 1 CMEs for taking and passing the post-test.

Advocate for Children’s Mental Health Issues
An Advocacy Day is also part of the Lifelong Learning Institute, on Thursday, February 7. This is a unique opportunity for you to lobby your elected officials on issues related to children’s mental health and child and adolescent psychiatry. The day consists of a briefing by the AACAP Department of Government Affairs on the issues attendees advocate on, followed by meetings with Senators and Representatives and/or their staff. Attendees will be responsible for the cost of transportation from the Westin to Capitol Hill, which is approximately $10 each way via taxi cab. Please don’t miss your chance to let your voice be heard! Be sure to check the box to indicate your participation on the Registration Form.
