AACAP Meeting Offers Latest Science on Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents

Boston, Massachusetts - The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), convenes its 54th Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts on October 23-28, 2007. Experts will present on bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance abuse, autism, bullying, prevention, trauma, and neuroimaging. The meeting is free for credentialed journalists.

Who: foremost experts in child and adolescent psychiatry

What: The AACAP Annual Meeting will include: 

  • Nine full day Institutes on psychopharmacology, autism, bullying, pediatric bipolar disorder, among other topics. Plus, the Maintenance of Certification Institute will cover the topics of schools, forensics, community systems of care, consultative issues, ethics, culture, public policy/advocacy, and updates on relevant topics in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Over 65 symposia and clinical perspectives in such areas as ADHD, substance abuse, pediatric bipolar disorder, Tourette's Disorder, depression, suicide, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, telepsychiatry, and sleep disorders.
  • More than 300 New Research Poster presentations.
