Thank you so much for providing for this tremendous opportunity for trainees to be involved in each of the components of the programs; by themselves each are invaluable career development tools and in combination provided for an excellent exposure to all levels of participation in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. As a first time attendee I was surprised by the level of commitment, openness, and graciousness that I experienced at the hands of directors, mentors, and staff during the various programs. Many thanks once more for a wonderful opportunity.

My younger cousin once told me, "Saying thank you once is not enough. You should say thank you at least three times." In the spirit of his enthusiasm -- Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. It was through the AACAP Life Members Grant that I received the opportunity to both speak with mentors about my career development as well as talk to the Life Members themselves about their exciting lives as Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists. I'd like to also thank my lab instructor and mentor, Stacy Drury, for inspiring me to apply for the highly regarded grant and her support for my application.

Faith Rohlke
University of Illinois at Chicago
Remembering my first day at an AACAP Annual Meeting brings me right back to the feeling I had when I realized I had "found my people." The conference is filled with brilliant and passionate individuals, cohesively working together, much like a family, to improve the lives of children and their communities. Of course I had my suspicions, but the meeting sealed the deal for me that CAP was the avenue I would pursue in medical service. At the Life Members Reception & Dinner I was in awe over the overflowing wisdom and energy contained within the dinner hall. As I chatted with my new Life Member mentors I was flooded with humble admiration, inspiration, and appreciation for having the opportunity to be part of such a remarkable experience. In continuation of the spirit of the Life Members' goal I am bringing the information and excitement for AACAP back to my medical school to share with other students interested in a potential CAP career. Mentors are the architects of the CAP foundation, and gardeners of the next generation of psychiatric care. Without the support of AACAP, and the Life Members, I would not have had the opportunities to truly explore CAP, and Ms. Partner and Brockman are instrumental to organizing the Life Member mentorship-to-student educational development dynamic. I would also like to thank my continuous mentors, Dr. Fox at UIC, and Dr. Hendren at UCSF, for their unwavering support and pushing me to strive for service, action, and growth, and for bringing me into the AACAP community.
