1. Harry Potter and his friends are “REAL” to his readers and movie audience. He’s been with us for 10 years. Don’t make light or fun if kids are upset because harm comes to Harry or friends.
  2. Give children a chance to grieve both death of character and END of series.
  3. If death is discussed consider Developmental approach (younger kids worried
    about harm to parents; older after 7, themselves).
  4. Discuss how death is part of cycle of life, only if asked. Do Not associate with SLEEP.
