AACAP is committed to continuing education as a means of maintaining excellence in child and adolescent psychiatry. To that end, AACAP offers excellent continuing medical education and enforces comprehensive and rigorous policies to manage potential conflicts of interest related to AACAP's continuing medical education. AACAP has developed a mechanism to manage conflicts of interest pertaining to its continuing medical education.

Accreditation with Commendation
AACAP has achieved an Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Accreditation with Commendation designation is the highest level of accreditation recognized by the ACCME and results in an extended six year term of accreditation. Approximately 30 percent of providers achieve this status.
The ACCME's decision confirms AACAP's compliance with all 22 of the ACCME's criteria which include the Standards for Commercial Support.
Each year, AACAP delivers 30 CME activities including live events, materials, and Journal CME reaching an average of 10,000 physicians.
Annual Meeting Policy on Full Disclosure
AACAP Annual Meetings provide extensive opportunities for learning, scientific exchange and collegial interaction. In particular, the AACAP Annual Meeting is a special event for professionals in child and adolescent psychiatry and allied disciplines from around the world to assemble to advance scientific understanding of child and adolescent mental illnesses. AACAP has kept content and presentations independent from sources of funding or other support. In so doing, we uphold the integrity of the Annual Meetings. In evaluations, AACAP Annual Meeting attendees consistently give the highest rating for “presentation was free of commercial bias." (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.)
